A scenic drive along the Hudson River brought me to Tarrytown, NY, where I stayed the night in anticipation of my visit to Westchester Community College

Upon arriving on campus, I was warmly greeted by CGL Kamil Hamaoui, who escorted me to the historic and stunning Hartford Hall. It was there that I had the pleasure of meeting President Belinda Miles and CAO Vanessa Morest. They not only graciously posed for a photo with me but also shared a delightful surprise—a hidden doorway and secret passage tucked away within Hartford Hall!

Before heading to the open session with faculty, Dr. Morest introduced me to several of WCC’s Academic Deans, providing a glimpse into the robust leadership that supports the college’s academic excellence.

Kamil then guided me to the open session, where I was delighted to see FCCC Secretary and Delegate Sean Simpson among the more than 30 faculty members in attendance. The session was animated and inspiring, with memorable remarks such as: “You won’t find a more inspired group of professionals working with students!”

Lunch followed with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, offering another opportunity for meaningful dialogue.
My visit concluded with a second open session and attendance at the Board of Trustees meeting—a fitting end to a day filled with collaboration, engagement, and insight.

Heartfelt thanks to Kamil for organizing such a well-structured and enriching visit, and to President Miles, CAO Morest, and the entire Westchester Community College community for their warm hospitality and commitment to excellence.
